Another by Ch True Topic. Her owner/breeder/handler knows my high opinion of this lovely b/m bitch, now nearly 6 years old and she was my BOB last time I judged Smooths, also going on to BIS. Different in type to 1 being a smaller, neater sort but also with lovely balance and so well made, feminine but well boned, typy but unexaggerated. Her head and expression are beautiful with level planes, stop just right and clean through the cheeks. She has such a lovely eye and scored slightly over 1 with her sweetness of expression. Good underjaw makes a perfect blunted wedge shape in profile. She was a little more reluctant than 1 to hold her ears tighter today but they are well set and perfectly tipped. Good length of neck flows into the same smashing front as her brother, she has a level topline with gentle rise over the loin and equally gentle curve over the croup to a lovely well angulated rear, with super width of thigh and a well carried tail. Mature in body, with lovely feet, in tight fitting coat still of gorgeous silvery blue, well marbled with black and nice tan, she presents a lovely picture. Her movement is on a par with 1, smooth, balanced, effortless, totally co-ordinated and just eats up the ground. Today 1 edged in front for me with that little more height on the leg and the length of head I prefer. Another classy Collie lady and a deserving RBB & RBOB over her brother

yet another good-un in this superb entry. Blue merle bitch of 6 years with beautiful well balanced head showing lovely expressive almond shaped eyes, correct ears that she used to advantage, clean cheeks, well filled rounded foreface & good muzzle & mouth with correct bite. She had excellent make & shape & was so correct all through with lovely neck, clean forehand, good bone & substance, good length of back, deep rib cage, excellent rear quarters & correct tail set & carriage. She stood on good legs & feet & she showed beautifully & moved easily & freely with a sure footed steady gait

June 2014 Collie Association Open Show (Back to Back with Smooth Collie Club) - 1st Open Bitch, Best Bitch & Best of Breed Judge Mrs Celia Vines and Reserve Best in Show under Gwen Beaden

4 year old merle and my exhibit of the day, what an outstanding bitch. Striking profile with good colour, feminine all through and confident and attractive expression. Neckline to topline correct. Enough to please, height, length and width perfect. Easy mover, had the flow which was smooth and powerful. What a delightful girl, so well handled. BB and BOB

BEST IN SHOW REPORT Reserve Best in Show went to the Smooth Collie Hutchings' Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse ShCM. This blue merle bitch has an excellent reach of neck and pleasing outline. Good depth of chest and spring and length of rib. Well bent stifle and let down of hock enabled her to move with drive. Excellent profile movement but a little loose in elbow coming towards me. She is a good colour that is well broken and her coat is of the correct texture. Presented and handled to perfection. These two bitches were a credit to their owner/breeders

RCC, Hutchings’ Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse, b/m. Another bitch with a correct body shape which has good angulation front & back, moved well. She lost out to 1 on head & expression, which is not quite as good but still pleasing. Does not make the best use of her neck

July 2013 West of England Collie Championship Show - over 200 Collies Judge : Marianne Grindley, 1st Open Bitch,  Best Bitch & Best of Breed and Best in Show under judge Joe Chorley

A blue merle that takes your eye as soon as she enters the ring. Standing, she looks a picture with her beautiful silver colour and big white collar, and when you go over her she does not disappoint. Lovely head, moulded foreface with correct stop, nice almond shaped eye, earset is good and her head sat proudly on a lovely reach of neck. Correct length of back to height, good bone and strong pasterns. A lovely balanced picture, flowed effortlessly round the ring. BB.BOB.BIS

June 2013 Midland Collie Open Show - Judge : Tony Foster, 2nd Open Bitch, Reserve Best Bitch

Collidach Fay Mouse. Blue merle who was very attentive to her handler through out the class. Strong underjaw and correct bite, correct slight stop and tip on the ear correctly positioned, lovely arched and muscular neck. Good front angulation with a correct length of body and tail set. Very free and easy on the move, again this kennel had a close call to winner. RBB.

June 2013 British Collie Open Show - Judge : Marianne Benton, 1st Open Bitch, Best Bitch Best of Breed and Best in Show co-judged with Terry Munro

My star of the day, Scored in all departments. This beautiful coloured blue has a delightful head to handle. Proper wedge shaped head.  Good roundness of muzzle, slight but perceptible stop. Good almond shaped eye obliquely set giving that desired collie expression, ears tipped and used well, to be critical would like to have them tighter. Nice length in neck, correct lay of shoulder, correct length in back with lovely spring of rib. Lovely rise over her loin, well let down in hocks, good angulation in stifle. Covered the ground with ease with great stride out in front and straight from the rear. BB, BoB and with full agreement with my co judge, Best in Show

May  2013 Yorkshire Collie Open Show - Judge : Simon Burton, 1st Open Bitch, Best Bitch Best of Breed and Best in Show under Jack Wigglesworth

This lovely b/m bitch is sister to the BD and a real cracker. Not a big girl but such lovely balance and so well made, feminine but well boned, typy but unexaggerated. Her head and expression are beautiful. Lovely length of head, level planes, stop just right, clean through the cheeks and such a lovely eye giving the sweetest of expressions. Good underjaw makes a perfect blunted wedge shape in profile and yes, she could hold her ears tighter but they are perfectly tipped and when she does really bring them up the effect gives you goosebumps – she honoured me with two such moments on the day and that was enough! Good length of neck flows into the same smashing front as her brother, spot on for length to height proportions giving that true Collie outline. Level topline with gentle rise over the loin and equally gentle curve over the croup to a lovely well angulated rear with super width of thigh and a well carried tail. Mature in body, with lovely feet, in tight fitting coat of gorgeous silvery blue, well marbled with black and with a nice bright tan, she poses perfectly in stance. To see her move is a real treat. Her movement is smooth, balanced, effortless, totally co-ordinated and just eats up the ground and I was delighted to award her BB. In the challenge, with a change of handler for her brother, he lost a little concentration while she remained fully focussed and this combined with her exceptional eye and expression won her top honours. BOB and BIS. Well done to her owner breeder on two such typy, grand moving Smooths who are so clearly fit for function

3 year old smaller girl but another very appealing lady, feminine head with lovely planes, flat skull well set tipped ears all giving sweet expression. November 2012 Collie Association Show - Judge : Jane Lilley, 2nd Open Bitch

Charming blue merle with dark pigment, whose obviously equally fit owner  would insist on taking her round the ring flat out. However, when she was  persuaded to take her at a normal pace, she moved quite beautifully with good  length of stride, holding her topline. Well shaped feminine head, dark eyes and  well carried ears.

June 2012 Stafford County 2 Day Show - Judge : Marion Sargent Best AVNSC, Pastoral Group 1 and Reserve Best in Show - Judge Nick Gourley (Witchstone)

Reserve Best in Show I chose Hutchings' Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse. I was impressed with her from ring side in the Group and was looking forward to judging her. Not only did she have to cope with the weather but her handler took a nasty fall in the slippery Group ring just minutes before Best in Show. She soon settled and clearly wanted to impress her handler. Stood rock solid and presented the most balanced picture. Angulation of fore quarters and hind quarters matched perfectly. Moved gracefully around and sound away and back. Very good, alert expression and used her well set ears to her advantage

******

March 2012 - Collie Association - Jack Wigglesworth 1st Open Bitch, Best Bitch, Best of Breed, and Best in Show

Top quality merle, I liked her head pattern, good in stop and skull, correct eye giving a lovely expression, could have brought her ears up a little tighter, but this was no detriment to her overall. Outlook, she had a good length of neck, good shoulder placement moved with real drive, interesting to be told later that I had awarded her dam a CC a few years ago; I feel this young lady should follow in her footsteps. B.O.B. and later B.I.S

June 2011 London Collie - Judge : Anne Hollywood,  1st Limit Bitch

A difficult class to judge to type as there was so much variation in shape.  The winner is such a feminine bitch who is so well put together and the most lovely colour. Really liked her rear angulations. She has short hocks and the result on the move was plenty of drive from the rear with a good top line, held in profile, and sound in front coming. Sweet head, flat skull and pleasing eye.  A quality bitch

SKC 2011 - Michael Gaunt - 1st Limit Bitch & CC & BOB doing the Double with her brother Woody

b/m who has captured her dam’s beautiful sweet expression. Not exaggerated in any way, correct head planes broken by a clean stop, correct shaped & set eyes, good ears & when you put this all together, gives you that desired expression. Good neck, set onto well laid shoulders, excellent front assembly, back of good length & well muscled & angulated rear. Now to her colour, what a beautiful well marbled powder blue she is & where she scores over her on dam is the fact that her tan is a deeper shade. On the move she is a joy to behold
